As diversity consultants, we strive to guide organizations toward inclusive practices that go beyond mere acknowledgment of differences. When managers approach inclusion issues through the lens of race, gender, ethnicity, or sexual identity, it is crucial to shift from a static viewpoint to one rooted in cultural competence. By doing so, managers can foster an environment that emphasizes common ground rather than focusing solely on differences. In this blog post, we explore the concept of cultural competence within a DEI framework and its significance in promoting a more inclusive workplace.

Cultural competence refers to the ability to understand, appreciate, and effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
